I've been following the Clifford Hargis case, and something about the timing of everything is really haunting me. Clifford was shot late on December 14th, but he held on until December 17th. I can't help but think about those three days he spent fighting for his life, his family possibly trying to make sense of it all while holding onto some hope. It's just such a heavy burden for his loved ones, waiting and watching while hoping for a miracle that didn't come.
And then there's the juvenile suspect. If this were truly a spur of the moment thing that got out of hand, what does that say about our society, our youth, and how we’re teaching right from wrong? The fact that this child now faces the possibility of being tried as an adult is also deeply concerning. I feel for Clifford's family, but I also can't help thinking about how many lives have been shattered by just a few impulsive seconds. I hope those who know more about this case come forward, not only to get justice for Clifford but to prevent further tragedies like this from happening. My heart goes out to everyone affected by this terrible incident.
Has anyone else been keeping up with the Clifford Hargis case? I’m just so shaken by the randomness of this violence. It’s terrifying to think that Clifford, who was just going about his day as always, got caught up in something so senseless. I’ve read that he was really dedicated to his work as a stonemason and carpenter, and it breaks my heart to think about what a loss his passing is to both his family and the community.
What’s even more concerning is the pattern it seems to be taking, with the subsequent shooting on Cumnock Street. It worries me how quickly these incidents can escalate and just how close the community could have been to suffering even more losses that night. It’s reassuring to hear about the arrest, but I can't imagine what Clifford's loved ones are going through right now. I hope the authorities can piece everything together soon so the town can find some peace.
