I can't stop thinking about how the community must be feeling after losing someone like Deonta T. Turner. It's beyond sad to see yet another young life ended so abruptly. I wonder what sort of systemic changes we could advocate for to help prevent these tragedies from happening over and over again. The root causes of violence in areas like East Garfield Park need to be addressed, but it feels like a daunting task. My heart goes out to Deonta's family and friends as they navigate this incredibly difficult time. Hopefully, there's some form of justice or peace for them amidst this ongoing crisis.
