Hey everyone, I've been following the case of Jay Gutierrez, and something that stands out to me is the role technology played in moving the investigation forward. It's really striking how detectives used Instagram records to identify Abel Kane Filemon so quickly. Knowing Jay's family and friends are grappling with such a painful loss, it's a small relief to see that the tech we often criticize for its negative impacts on privacy has helped bring some answers to his loved ones. It makes me think about how social media is now a double-edged sword—both a risk and a tool for justice. These developments won't bring Jay back, but perhaps they offer a little piece of closure. My thoughts are seriously with his loved ones, hoping they find the strength to get through this.
