I was reading through the details about Joseph Zanes' disappearance, and something that stood out to me was the fact that his blue van was left at the BP gas station. Does anyone know if the authorities have done a forensic sweep of the vehicle? It seems odd that the van was just left there if he had plans to go anywhere else. Also, did anyone check nearby CCTV footage from the days following the 15th? It just seems like there might be more clues around the area. Curious to see if anyone in the area noticed anything that could be linked to Joseph's movements after that last sighting.
Has anyone else wondered about the timeline between when Joseph was last seen and when he was reported missing? He was last seen three days before the official report. I find it interesting (and a bit concerning) that there was this gap before anyone raised the alarm. Was he in regular contact with anyone who might have noticed sooner, or was it just missed because of his tendency to be socially withdrawn? It just seems like a long time for no one to flag anything—especially since his van was left behind at the gas station. Maybe local folks or anyone who passed by the area could shed some light on this. Any thoughts on what might have been happening during those crucial days?
I find it intriguing how Joseph's van was just left there at the BP station. It seems unusual for someone so private like Joseph to just abandon his vehicle without any signs of a struggle or issues with the van. Has anyone looked into any possible hitchhiking activity in the area around that time? Maybe he could have gotten a ride with someone. Also, I wonder if his social withdrawal means he'd be less likely to ask for help, even if he needed it. If anyone in the area remembers picking up someone or noticing any unusual activity around August 15, it might provide some clues.
