I’ve been following the tragic case of Patrick Smith, and something that's been sticking with me is the presence of the children during the shooting. I can't imagine how terrifying it must have been for them to witness such a traumatic event in their own home. It’s commendable that the family members stepped up so quickly to care for the kids, but it’s going to be a long road for them to process what happened. Seeing how the community and authorities can support the emotional well-being of these children should be a priority. Does anyone know if there are any local organizations offering counseling or support services for families going through situations like this? It breaks my heart to think of them having to navigate life after such a tragedy.
