I can’t stop thinking about John Hicks' legacy within the community. It's really tragic to see someone who dedicated so much of his life to service and helping others meet such a devastating end. From his time in the Air Force to his work with at-risk youth, it seems like he touched a lot of lives in meaningful ways. What he did in both his professional and personal life shows just how much he cared about people who needed support. My heart goes out to everyone who knew him and was impacted by his efforts. It’s unsettling not to know why this happened, especially when it seems so at odds with the life he led. If anyone has more background on the work he did or stories about his impact, I'd love to hear them. Sometimes remembering the good can help those grieving find some solace.
Hi everyone,
I've been reflecting a lot on John Hicks' dedication to helping at-risk youth, especially given his background as a retired U.S. Air Force Sergeant and later as a correctional and parole officer. It seems like Mr. Hicks really tried to make a difference in his community, particularly for kids who might otherwise be overlooked or left without guidance. It's so incredibly sad to think that someone who spent so much of his life working to build up others would meet such a tragic end. I can't help but wonder if some of the mentorship work he did will carry on in his absence, and if any programs or initiatives might be established in his memory. Would love to hear thoughts from others who might know more about his work or who could shine light on any lasting impact he's had on youth in Crowley and Fort Worth.?
Stay safe, everyone. Keep your loved ones close.

I've been following the case of John Hicks closely, and it's just all so surreal. It must have been devastating for the family to find him that way. I can't stop thinking about how John dedicated his life to helping others, especially those at-risk kids in Crowley and Fort Worth schools. He seemed like someone who really made an effort to give back to the community and uplift those around him. His military service just adds another layer; serving in Operation Desert Storm and then transitioning to supporting others back home—it’s truly commendable. It’s difficult to understand how this situation could have unfolded within a family, and my heart goes out to those close to him who are grappling with this tragedy. If anyone has insight into whether John had recently faced any personal struggles or issues at home, I’d be interested to know more.
