Has anyone else noticed how often innocent people get caught up in these gang conflicts? Alfred Stovall didn’t have to die for this cycle of violence. It seems like he was just in the wrong place at the wrong time, with Murphy acting on incorrect assumptions about rival affiliations. My heart goes out to Alfred’s family and friends who are caught in the aftermath of such senseless violence. It must be incredibly frustrating that lives are being endangered and lost based on nothing more than mistaken beliefs and territorial disputes by these gangs. I hope the federal indictment brings some peace to the affected families and serves as a wake-up call for more aggressive efforts to tackle gang violence in our neighborhoods.
