I've been following the case of Sherniqua Danielle "Danny B" Banks and wanted to talk about something that's been on my mind regarding the whole situation. The fact that Menefee was out on bond at the time of the shooting is really troubling to me. I can't help but feel for Sherniqua’s family, knowing that someone with such a violent background was allowed back into the community. She was clearly an inspiring and driven person, juggling so many successful businesses and being a loving mother to little Kruz. It’s incredibly upsetting to think that someone as promising as her could be taken so senselessly. I agree with her mother Lisa and hope the judicial system takes a deeper look into how it handles cases like these. We owe it to Sherniqua and others affected by similar tragedies to push for a safer community. Her legacy deserves that level of respect and attention.
I’ve been following this terrible incident since it happened, and I can't get over how senseless this act of violence was. It's mind-boggling that Danny B, such a vibrant and accomplished woman, was taken away over what seems to be a baseless paranoia. I’ve been reading about how she juggled multiple businesses and still found time to be an amazing mom. The sheer determination she must have had is so impressive.
My heart truly goes out to her little boy, Kruz. I can’t imagine how confusing and terrifying that night must have been for him. It’s just so tragic—losing his mom at such a tender age. Hopefully, there's a strong support system around him as he grows up.
One thing this case makes painfully clear is how critical it is to examine the protocols around granting bond. I mean, how does someone with such a violent history get so many chances? It's unsettling to think that someone like Menefee could be out on the streets rather than being rehabilitated or properly supervised. We have to see real change to prevent something like this from happening again.
