I've been closely following the tragic incident at Fred Moore High School, and I just can't get over how devastating this is for Edron Tu-Ray Slaughter's family and the community. It's deeply unsettling to think that a verbal altercation escalated into such a violent encounter. One angle that keeps sticking with me is the role of the environment in situations like these. School parking lots, especially late at night, aren’t places where you'd expect such a dangerous conflict to unfold. It's hard not to wonder if there were warning signs that could have been addressed or if different measures could have been in place to prevent this kind of escalation. My heart goes out to Edron's family and friends who are mourning his loss and to the 26-year-old who's still fighting for his life. They didn't deserve any of this. It's a harsh reminder of how quickly disputes can turn deadly and the importance of community vigilance and intervention. Hoping for justice and some semblance of peace for everyone impacted by this senseless act.
