I can’t help but think about how Payton's football team at Grandfalls-Royalty High is coping right now. He was more than just a player; he was someone who brought his incredible spirit into every game and practice. I heard he wore jersey number 6 and that it meant a lot to him and the team. I've been reflecting on how his teammates must be grappling with this loss. Someone so young and lively being gone in such a sudden and tragic way is hard to process. Sports have a way of connecting people, and I'm sure his presence on the field is missed dearly. I’m sending lots of love and strength to everyone who shared the field with him, and I really hope the team finds a way to honor him in future games. Perhaps wearing a patch or dedicating a game in his memory could help the healing process. If anyone from the community or the school has updates on how the team is handling it, I’d appreciate hearing about any plans to keep his spirit alive during this difficult time.
