It truly saddens me to hear about the senseless murder of Sheikh Abir-Hossain. I'm particularly struck by how quickly the community came together to support his family. It's amazing that the Bangladesh Student Association at Lamar University managed to raise almost $80,000 through a GoFundMe campaign. This shows the deep impact Abir had on those around him, highlighting the strength of community and unity in times of such unthinkable tragedy. His family, especially his young daughter, will hopefully find some solace in knowing how much he was loved and respected. May justice be served for those responsible, and may his family find peace in the support and love they are receiving from the community.
