Louis A. Pompei, a dedicated police officer with the Glendora Police Department, tragically lost his life on June 9, 1995, in San Dimas, California. Pompei, who was off-duty at the time, had stopped at a local Vons supermarket to pick up some dog food. While in the checkout line, an armed robbery unfolded.
