I still can’t wrap my head around the fact that this happened during what should have been a joyful celebration for the Fullerton family. A baby shower is supposed to be a time of happiness and hope for new beginnings, not an event that ends in such an unimaginable tragedy. My heart goes out to little Aniah’s friends at school who are probably struggling to understand why their playmate will never come back. The surviving children, especially the 13-year-old nephew who had to witness such horrors, are going to need so much support and care to heal from this. I also can’t help but think about Hortense, having to endure this devastating loss. If anyone knows of support efforts or ways to assist those affected, please share. This community needs to rally together to lift up what remains of this shattered family.

I've been following the tragic events in Richmond, Texas, and my heart goes out to the Fullerton family. It's difficult to comprehend how much pain and upheaval they must be experiencing right now. I was particularly struck by the heroism of Barrett's nephew. At only 13, to have the presence of mind to hide and protect his younger relatives during such a terrifying ordeal is truly remarkable. It's sad that children are often thrust into these adult situations, having to make split-second decisions that no child should ever face. I'm hoping the community can rally around those who survived and offer them the support and compassion they need to heal from this trauma. We need to keep talking about domestic violence and its repercussions, so tragedies like this become less frequent. Stay safe, everyone.

Has anyone else been thinking about the impact this tragedy must have had on the surviving children and Hortense? I can't imagine the courage it took for that 13-year-old nephew to make the call to authorities after hiding in the closet and witnessing such a traumatic event. These kids are going to need so much love and support moving forward. It's such a chilling reminder of how deeply domestic violence can affect not just those directly involved, but the entire family. I hope the community rallies around them and provides the care and resources they need to begin healing. How do we even start to help children process something this unimaginable? Any advice or resources would be appreciated. My heart goes out to them.
