I can’t stop thinking about how Lisa Ortiz’s daughters, Desiree and Beyoncé, are coping right now. Losing a mom in such an unexpected and violent way is unimaginable. What's puzzling is that they had no idea about her moving in with Garcia—this whole situation seems to have blindsided them. It raises concerns about how easily some people can conceal dangerous relationships, even from those closest to them. I really hope their GoFundMe finds success, and they get the support they need from all of us and the local community. This is a painful reminder of how hidden domestic violence can be and how we still need to push for better resources and awareness for those at risk. I’ve been following the Lisa Ortiz case and I can’t stop thinking about how much love the community has shown for her family, especially her daughters, Desiree and Beyoncé. It's just so sad that they lost someone so vibrant and loving. It’s clear from what her daughters have shared that Lisa was an incredible person, always full of life and joy, and fiercely passionate about her Dallas Cowboys!
