Has anyone else been following the updates on the tragic death of Otarion Lomax on the Southwest Freeway? The fact that something as simple and mundane as a trip home from bowling can turn into such a nightmare is terrifying. I can't stop thinking about how this could have happened to anyone, even someone we know. I read that Houston PD is ramping up efforts through the “Safe Roadways Initiative” to try and prevent incidents like this. It’s a relief knowing there’s some action being taken, but I hope it’s enough. It’s bittersweet thinking about Otarion's dreams of becoming a crane operator, now forever lost. I can't even begin to fathom what his family and friends must be going through. They’re all in my thoughts during this unbelievably tough time. It’s a sober reminder for everyone to slow down, have patience, and think twice on the road. Stay safe out there, everyone.
