Hey everyone, I wanted to bring up something that's been really bothering me about Emmilee Risling's case. I’ve read a lot of discussions about her struggles and how they may have played a role in her disappearance, but what about the broader issue of law enforcement collaboration with tribal authorities? I'm curious if anyone knows more about how these agencies are working together (or not) in Emmilee's case.
It seems from what I've gathered that jurisdictional issues often come into play in cases like this. Given the ongoing crisis of missing and murdered Indigenous women, shouldn’t there be a more seamless way for these parties to collaborate? Is this another example of how systemic issues are hampering investigations?
Would love to hear from anyone who’s more familiar with how these processes are supposed to work, or if there are any new initiatives aimed at improving these relationships. We need every available resource to bring Emmilee home, and it feels like addressing this could be a step in the right direction. Thoughts?
