I've been following the case of Moises Huerta Gonzalez, and something that's been on my mind is the impact this has had on the kids at Lincoln High School. I can't help but think about what it must've been like for his friends and classmates to hear about his death, especially when it happened so close to their school. I read somewhere that grief counselors were brought in to help students process the tragic news, but I wonder if anyone on here knows more about how the school has been supporting the kids since then? Also, has there been any outreach or programs introduced to address youth violence in schools around Dallas? It just seems like such a crucial time to foster communication and healing within the community. My heart goes out to Moises’s family and friends; I truly hope they’re finding support and solace in the people around them.
Reading about Moises Huerta Gonzalez’s tragic death really got me thinking about youth violence and how things have changed since I was a teenager. It's just so sad to see how accessible firearms seem to be for young individuals. I can’t help but think, what can we as a community do to address this fierce grip of violence among our youth? There’s got to be more resources or programs that could be introduced in schools aimed at conflict resolution or mental health support. My heart goes out to Moises' family, especially his mother, Sarah. Her strength in the face of such a devastating loss is humbling. We need to rally as a community to support families like theirs and find ways to prevent tragedies like this from happening in the future.
I can't stop thinking about that poor family and what they've had to go through. It must be unbelievably difficult to lose someone so young, especially in such a senseless way. I read that Moises was described by his mom as her "golden child," and it's clear he was treasured by his family. It makes you wonder how this devastating moment will shape not only their lives but the entire community around them. It’s a call for us all to reflect on what's happening with our youth and try to push for changes that can prevent such tragedies in the future. Does anyone know if there have been any community meetings or initiatives to tackle youth violence in South Dallas since this happened? I hope something positive can come from such a terrible loss.
