Has anyone else been struck by how eerily quiet this neighborhood has become after Erick Lopez's tragic death? I’ve lived in Old East Dallas for over a decade, and while the area has its ups and downs, it saddens me that it took this horrific incident to shake people up. Erick’s death serves as a grim reminder of the violence that hovers too close to home for comfort. I've seen more neighbors joining community meetings since then, but it's such an upsetting reason to come together. I didn’t know Erick personally, but I’ve heard from others that he was a kind and hardworking guy. It's truly unfair that his life was cut short and even more frustrating that we don’t have answers yet. If anyone saw something or knows anything, please step up and reach out to Detective Rodriguez. Erick deserves justice, and his family and friends deserve peace. Let’s support them in any way we can.
