I can’t stop thinking about the unfortunate circumstances surrounding Angel Montoya's death in Brownsville. It’s such a terrible loss for his loved ones and the community. I wanted to discuss something that’s been on my mind since reading about it — the dangers of buying or selling firearms privately, especially meeting strangers for such deals.
Angel’s situation is a stark reminder that we can't be too careful. Even with laws in place, the reality is that transactions involving firearms might not always be safe. It’s crucial to meet in secure, monitored locations. The fact that the Brownsville Police Department is emphasizing the use of Safe Exchange Zones after this incident is commendable, but I wish such precautions were more widely known and utilized before this tragedy occurred.
Given the risks that come with these types of exchanges, wouldn't it make sense to have stricter regulations or more awareness programs around them? While nothing can bring Angel back, maybe raising awareness could prevent similar situations in the future. Sending love and prayers to Angel’s family and all who knew him. ❤️
