I keep thinking about Nancy Ayala's children and the unimaginable trauma they must be experiencing. Their world turned upside down in a single night, and now they have to navigate life without their mother. It's so important for the community to rally around them and provide the support they desperately need. Schools, counselors, and local organizations should be stepping up to ensure these kids have a stable environment and the emotional resources to deal with this tragedy. It's heartening to see some members of the Mesquite community already organizing drives for the family, but there needs to be a sustained effort. More than ever, these children need the caring presence of a community that values them and remembers their mother's life beyond this senseless act. Let’s keep the conversation going about supporting survivors of domestic violence so we can help prevent this from happening again. Justice for Nancy and healing for her kids should be our priority.
