I've been thinking about the lasting impact this tragedy must have on Enrique's friends. Teen years are supposed to be a time of growth and new experiences, not having to face the violent loss of a close friend. I can only imagine the pain and confusion those who were with him at the party are going through.
I read that Enrique was an early college student, which means he probably had a core group of supportive friends, just like any young person starting that new chapter. After this devastating event, I hope the schools or local organizations are offering counseling or support groups for the teenagers affected by this senseless act. Mental health support could be crucial right now for everyone trying to process this loss while also dealing with the fear and trauma such an event brings.
