I came across an article about the Monterey Park tragedy, and I can’t stop thinking about the bravery displayed by Brandon Tsay that night. The fact that he confronted the shooter at the Lai Lai Ballroom and managed to disarm him is astounding. It’s terrifying to think about what could have happened if he hadn’t stepped in. He's just a regular guy who found himself in a nightmare scenario and did something incredibly courageous. I hope he’s getting the support he deserves, emotionally and otherwise, because that's a lot to carry on one's shoulders. It's inspiring to see someone take action like that and undoubtedly saved countless other lives. My heart goes out to Diana Tom's family and everyone affected by this senseless act.
Wow, I can't even begin to imagine what must be going through Diana Tom's family and friends' minds right now. I didn't know Diana personally, but from everything I've read, her love for dance really stood out. It's just so surreal to think that she spent her last moments doing something she was so passionate about, surrounded by people who shared that joy.
Brandon Tsay’s bravery is incredible, stepping up the way he did at Lai Lai Ballroom undoubtedly saved more lives. It must take a lot to confront someone in such a terrifying situation. The community's response, especially with the GoFundMe to support Diana's family, shows there's still a lot of good in this world, even when times are so dark. I hope they find some comfort and peace in each other as they navigate this unimaginable loss. If anyone has more information on any upcoming vigils or memorials, please share. It seems really important to keep remembering and honoring those we've lost.
