I was deeply moved reading about the dedication and care Robert Valencia's family showed during his funeral services. The gesture of coming together to remember him at Moreno Mortuary and laying him to rest at the Santa Maria Cemetery speaks volumes about the love they held for him. I can't even begin to imagine the mix of emotions they must be feeling, from loss to a sense of justice with the recent arrest. I hope they find some solace knowing that the community is standing alongside them in this difficult time. It serves as a reminder that the support system we create in our lives can carry us through the toughest of times.
I'm really trying to wrap my head around why it took so many months to arrest Kevin Medrano after Robert Valencia was tragically killed. February to October is quite the gap, especially when a community is grieving and in need of answers. I can't imagine the pain Robert's loved ones had to endure during that time without any real sense of justice in sight. I hope the arrest helps them find some sense of peace, though knowing something finally happened doesn't take away the profound loss. It seems like the SMPD was thorough in their investigation, but I wish these processes could move faster without sacrificing integrity. My thoughts are with Robert’s family, especially his kids, during this difficult time. ?️
