Has anyone looked into the role Ricky's work with his uncle might have played in his disappearance? Working in the horse training business can sometimes bring you into contact with some shady characters, especially back in the '70s. Maybe he overheard or witnessed something he shouldn’t have. I also wonder if Ricky’s military background could have played a part somehow; maybe someone from his past resurfaced? It’s baffling that after so many years, we still have so little info on his case. Anyone else think there's more to it than meets the eye?

Hey everyone, I've been digging into Richard "Ricky" Carter's disappearance from 1978, and something that's been on my mind is his time in the Marines. Does anyone know if the military keeps any kind of records that could help in cases like these? It just seems odd to me that he went missing so soon after returning home. Maybe someone from his unit saw something or has heard something over the years? I know it's a long shot, but it might be a piece of the puzzle that's been overlooked. If anyone has more info or insights about how military records work in these kinds of cases, it'd be great to hear your thoughts. Thanks!

Hey everyone, I recently came across Ricky Carter’s case and something caught my attention that I haven't seen discussed much. Ricky had recently returned from the Philippines after his time in the Marine Corps. I'm curious about whether he had mentioned his future plans to any of his close friends or family after leaving the service. Was he looking to travel, stay in New Bedford, or potentially move elsewhere? Given he was working with his uncle as a horse trainer, it's possible he was planning on sticking around, but I would love to know if anyone has come across any information regarding his intentions or plans leading up to the time he disappeared. Sometimes, understanding what someone was planning can lead to new insights or avenues to explore. Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated! Thanks!
