Hey everyone,
I've been diving deep into the case of Joseph Patrick Breen and I am puzzled about something that stood out to me. I read that he went by the nickname "Joey," which got me thinking. Was this a name only close friends and family used, or was it something he used in everyday life? I wonder because sometimes a nickname can tell you a lot about how a person is perceived by the people around them. If he was well-known as "Joey," perhaps there are people who knew him casually by that name who might not realize he was the same person in all the reports. Does anyone know if there was any effort to publicize his disappearance under both his full name and his nickname? It seems like casting a wider net using both names might jog someone's memory after all these years. Thoughts?
Hey everyone,

I recently came across the case of Joseph "Joey" Patrick Breen, and something interesting caught my attention. Has anyone else noticed that this case is being handled by the Boston Police Department's Unsolved Squad even after all these years? It seems like they must think there's hope to solve it, right? I’m curious if anyone has insights into whether the squad got any leads in recent years that might give the family some closure, or if it’s more about keeping Joey’s story alive in hopes that someone out there remembers something. It would be interesting to get perspectives from those knowledgeable about how these units operate, especially in cases this old.
Hey everyone, I’ve been looking into the unsolved case of Joseph Patrick Breen and something that's been bugging me is the lack of any reported sightings or leads in neighboring areas. South Boston isn’t exactly a remote place, and I find it really odd that no one came forward with any potential sightings, given how distinctive Joey looked, especially with that scar on his arm. It’s like he vanished without a trace, which makes me wonder if there was something more going on that night on November 12, 1979. Has anyone else considered if his disappearance might be linked to someone he knew or a specific situation he might have been involved in? It’s just strange that there’s so little information even so many years later. Thoughts?
