I feat this is one where the lack of a body has hindered the case, as it seems pretty obvious, per the Charlotte Observer article, that his former bosses at the garage, MS and ND, were involved. If you read the article, he worked with MS and ND at the D&S Garage in Marshville (which was owned by ND and MS). MS was the last person to see him alive. ND was a known associate of the Hell's Angels, and, after the second burglary, allowed the Hell's Angels suspects *to stay at his house.* So ND (sorry for the initials, but they're easy to figure out from the article) owns the garage where WT Ferguson works, AND is buddies with the Hell's Angels.

You're right to point out how critical the Charlotte Observer article is to understanding the context of Ferguson’s disappearance. From what's reported, Ferguson worked at D&S Garage in Marshville, which was co-owned by MS and ND. MS was reportedly the last person to see him alive, and ND had known ties to the Hells Angels. Not only that, but after the second burglary—where gang members were suspected—ND even let some of them stay at his house.

Ferguson was preparing to take a polygraph test to clear himself in the coin collection burglary but vanished the day before he was supposed to meet with investigators. That timing is difficult to ignore. The links between his employers, the garage, and the Hells Angels cast a long shadow over the case.

Unfortunately, without a body or direct forensic evidence, the investigation has seemed to hit a wall. It's a classic example of how a disappearance without remains can severely limit what law enforcement can do, even when there are multiple red flags pointing to foul play.

Has anyone looked into the angle of the coin collection that was stolen right before Walter's disappearance? I'm curious about whether those coins ever resurfaced or if they were traced back to any fences or known associates of the Hell's Angels at the time. Since Walter was allegedly involved in the burglary, I wonder if following the trail of the coins could provide any new leads or reaffirm the timeline of events leading to his disappearance. Even small details about where those coins ended up could shine some light on his last known activities and help connect the dots. Anyone have any insights or updates about this aspect of the case?
Has anyone else looked into the coin collection that got stolen in the burglary Walter was allegedly involved in? I find it odd that the collection hasn’t resurfaced, especially since it was supposedly valuable. You'd think someone would have tried to sell or trade it by now. If Walter was in hiding, it could have been a bargaining chip or support for him. Maybe the collection ended up with the Hell’s Angels, or someone else took it who hasn’t popped up on the radar yet. It seems like a thread worth tugging on, given the potential links to both Walter and the gang. Any other sleuths or collectors out there who know more about rare coin markets during that era? It's such a strange twist in an already tangled case.
Has anyone looked into the possibility that Walter Ferguson was actually trying to distance himself from the Hell's Angels? It seems suspicious that he disappeared right before his polygraph test. Maybe he knew too much and was scared. It’s also possible he had a change of heart after the burglary incident and wanted out but was silenced for what he knew. I keep thinking about how dangerous it must have been for him, especially if he tried to double-cross them. If anyone has more details on his level of involvement with the gang, I'd love to hear your thoughts. Really hoping some fresh clues come up to help solve this mystery.
