How unfortunate his mom was not alive when his remains would be found. In the very least she would have had confirmation that he had passed and the murder investigation could truly begin.

Has anyone else noticed how often train depots come up in missing persons cases? Warren David Hawkins was last seen at one in Kelso, WA, back in 1986, and it got me thinking about how transitory these places are. Between people constantly coming and going and the lack of permanent staff, it seems like a location where you could easily slip off the radar. I’ve read about a few other cases where the last sightings were at similar transport hubs. Maybe it’s just a coincidence, but it does make you wonder if there's something about these settings that make it easier for someone to vanish. Curious if there might be any security footage from that period? Even grainy tapes could hold some clues. Anyone else ever thought about this or seen similar patterns?
Did anyone else find it strange that Warren was last seen at a train depot? I’ve been digging through some old news clippings, and this detail sticks out to me. In the '80s, train depots were still pretty active, so it seems like there might have been quite a few people around. Was there ever a call for witnesses at the time? Someone must have seen something, right? I wonder if anyone checked with the train operators or if they did a canvas for those who were passing through. If anyone finds any old reports or remembers anything about the depot activity back then, it could be worth a look!
