Has anyone else been deeply moved by how close this hits to home? Earl Smith was not only our neighbor in Hawthorne but also a familiar face for many. It's unnerving to think such violence happened just on the 13400 block of Kornblum Avenue. I've read that no suspects have been named, which makes it all the more unsettling for our community.
This senseless act has left friends, family, and local residents in shock, grappling for answers. It's reassuring to know that the LA County Sheriff's Department and Hawthorne PD are working together, but I really hope more people come forward with information. If there's anything anyone knows—even the smallest detail—please consider reaching out to the Sheriff's Homicide Bureau or Crime Stoppers.
Let's support Earl's loved ones and hope justice is served swiftly. Keeping his family in my thoughts.
Hey everyone,
I've been following the Earl Smith case, and something that's been on my mind is how this impacts the Hawthorne community. I've got friends in the area, and they're really shaken up by what happened. It's terrifying to think that violence like this can happen so close to home.
From what I've read, there's not much info on suspects or motives yet, which has got people around here on edge. It's awful to hear about these shootings, but it's even worse when you don’t know why it happened or who might be behind it. It feels like everyone is holding their breath, waiting for some answers or an arrest.
I can't imagine what Earl's family is going through right now. Losing a loved one so suddenly and brutally must be devastating. For those who knew Earl, I hope they can find some peace and support during this difficult time.
I really hope that anyone with information comes forward soon. We need to break this cycle where people are too afraid to speak up. If you're in the area, check out the tip line or Crime Stoppers if you have anything that might help. We need to help the authorities get some justice for Earl and help his family and friends find some closure.
Stay safe, everyone.
