Did anyone else attend the "Guns Down, Crosses Up" event? I was there with a few friends, and I was really moved by the turnout and the strength shown by Demariay’s family. It was so touching to see them channel their grief into something that could potentially save other young lives. The speakers made some powerful points about needing more community support and resources for youth in Memphis. It left me thinking about how we can all contribute to creating a safer environment for our kids. It’s just so sad that it sometimes takes a tragedy to bring focus to issues like this. I'm curious if these events will continue or if there are other initiatives happening in the city that we should be supporting. We need to make sure Demariay’s story isn't forgotten, and that something positive comes out of it. Anyone have info on upcoming events or ways we can get involved?
