I’ve been following this case closely, and something that really strikes me is the incredible impact "Big Mike" had on those around him. It’s obvious he was much more than just a custodian at The Covenant School; he seemed to be a beacon of kindness. From what I’ve read, Mike was known for his warm heart and that really personal touch of knowing each student by name. In our busy lives, it’s a rare gem who can make everyone feel seen and cared for like that. It’s so moving to hear about the overwhelming community support his family has received. The GoFundMe raising over $550,000 is a testament to how much he was loved and the desire to honor his legacy. What I find particularly touching is the way his larger-than-life spirit continues to live on through the stories shared by students and staff. Beyond just his family, I hope the community can find healing in celebrating his life and the light he brought into the world. My heart goes out to everyone affected, and I think it’s so important we continue these conversations on safety and mental health. They are complex issues, but tackling them together is how we create deeper, lasting change.

Hi everyone, I’ve been following the discussions about the tragic event at The Covenant School, and I wanted to take a moment to reflect on the profound impact Mike Hill, affectionately known as "Big Mike," had on his community. It’s clear from the stories shared by those who knew him that he was much more than just a custodian. His warm personality and genuine care for the students and staff created a welcoming environment for everyone around him. It’s been heartening to see the community rally around his family in such a tragic time. The immense support for the GoFundMe shows just how many lives he touched. I read that at the funeral, Pastor Jim Bachmann described him as a strong yet tender individual who knew every student by name. That really speaks volumes about his character. While much of the focus naturally turns to discussions about gun control and school safety, I think it’s important we also take time to remember and celebrate the lives lost, including Big Mike’s. It’s so important that their stories and the positive impact they had continue to be shared. Sending my thoughts and support to the Nashville community and all those affected.
