I recently came across some posts about the tragic incident involving Chickenia Livingston and just wanted to share that it's truly devastating to hear about this loss. It's hard to believe something like this could happen to someone who seemed to have such a positive influence at ETSU. I read that she graduated in 2017, and it’s no surprise that she stayed on to work at the university. It's a testament to her dedication and connection to the community. I can only imagine the shock and grief her colleagues and students must be feeling right now. It's also incredibly sad for her family and friends in both Johnson City and Knoxville. My thoughts are with all of them as they navigate through this difficult time. Would love to hear from anyone who might have stories or memories of Chickenia, as keeping her spirit alive is important during times like these.

I've been following the tragic case of Chickenia Livingston and it's been weighing heavy on my mind, just thinking about how something like this could happen. Today I wanted to focus on the aftermath of the situation with the involvement of crisis negotiators and the Special Operations Squad. It must have been such a tense, unpredictable scenario when Deloach barricaded himself after the shooting. I can only imagine the strain on everyone involved—from the officers trying to resolve things peacefully to the neighbors witnessing the scene unfold. Kudos to the negotiators and Special Ops for handling the situation without further violence. It's critical in these moments for law enforcement to have the skills and patience to de-escalate. But even with a peaceful surrender, the heartache won't easily fade for those who knew Chickenia. My heart goes out to her family, friends, and her community at ETSU. Keeping her memory alive by acknowledging her work and how she touched others seems like one way to honor her amidst such a senseless tragedy.
