I’ve been following Phillip’e’s case closely and my heart goes out to his family. I know everyone is focusing on what happened that day, but I keep thinking about the availability of those free gun locks at MNPD Headquarters. It's frustrating to hear about these preventable tragedies when resources are out there to make homes safer. It’s not just about assigning blame but making sure something like this doesn’t happen again. I wonder if there could be more community outreach to educate people about these options. It’s so important that we find ways to support families and make sure something so innocent like curiosity doesn’t end up costing a life. Would love to hear if anyone knows about efforts in Nashville or elsewhere that are working to get these resources into more homes.

Has anyone else been following the tragic case in Nashville with eight-year-old Phillip’e Woodard? I can't even begin to imagine the pain his family is going through right now. It's such a sad situation that could have been prevented. I’ve been thinking a lot about the 16-year-old who was present during the accident. As someone who isn’t much older, I can’t fathom the guilt and trauma they might be enduring, even though they had no control over what happened. I hope they have a support system to help them through this. It’s also devastating that this is the third such incident this year. I really agree with MNPD’s push for responsible gun storage. Please, everyone, if you have firearms, make sure they’re secured safely. Let’s keep this conversation going to help prevent such senseless tragedies in the future.
