Hey everyone, I've been following the Geneva Gladney case, and while the details are shocking, I find myself thinking a lot about her son, Derik. It must be unimaginably tough to lose a parent like that, especially in such a violent manner. The bond they had seems so special, and you can tell from his words that Geneva wasn't just a mother, but a light in his life. I can't imagine the mix of emotions he must be dealing with, from anger and confusion to deep sorrow. I also feel like this brings to light the importance of taking threats seriously. It’s terrifying to think that someone can threaten a family and follow through. The system really needs to be there to protect people in these situations. Geneva's story is a heartbreaking reminder of how quickly things can escalate. My heart goes out to Derik and the rest of Geneva's family. Sending them strength as they navigate through this incredibly difficult time. It's up to us as a community to keep Geneva's memory alive and support those who are left behind. Does anyone know if there are any local initiatives or support groups forming to help the family or to raise awareness about domestic violence? I think it would be great to contribute in any way possible. Stay safe out there, everyone.
