It's truly devastating to hear about the senseless loss of Lamont Butts, especially considering how beloved he was by his community. I came across another angle of this tragedy that's been bugging me. The way Lamont and his wife unintentionally ended up in the middle of an active shooting is terrifying. It just makes you realize how random and indiscriminate these violent acts can be. Was the 39-year-old woman found nearby connected to the gunfight somehow, or was she, like Lamont, just in the wrong place at the wrong time? It's hard not to feel anxious when you think about how vulnerable everyday situations can make us. I hope the police get the information they need to solve this quickly. My thoughts are with Lamont's family and the other victims—hoping for justice and some kind of peace for all of them.
