It's so devastating to see yet another young life taken in such a brutal manner. I was reading about Neko Rivera's case and it just breaks my heart to think about how terrified he must have been, being chased by those individuals. The fact that no arrests have been made is beyond frustrating. I hope the surveillance footage can bring forward some leads soon. It's really admirable how his mother, Esther Kim, has stepped up in what must be an unimaginably painful time, to advocate for justice. The ongoing violence in Philadelphia is terrifying, especially for families with kids in school. Hoping more people speak up with information and that some sense of peace can be restored for his family. My thoughts are with them.

I can't stop thinking about how Neko Rivera's story reflects such a troubling pattern in our community. Here we have a young kid, only 15 years old, gunned down in broad daylight after leaving school. The fact that Neko was chased by three people before being shot multiple times is just chilling.
It's especially frightening to think about the safety of our school environments when an incident at Samuel Fels High School might be connected to his death. Schools should be safe havens for students, yet here we are confronting the harsh reality of gun violence seeping into these supposed sanctuaries.
