I'm really taken aback by the impact this tragedy has had on the community around Wilmot Veterans Park. I used to walk my dog there a few times a week, and it's always been a peaceful corner of our neighborhood. Knowing that Ivan Hall lost his life there and the young boys were injured in such a brutal manner is just... it's just so unsettling. It's like this violence is erasing the safe spaces around us.
I can't stop thinking about the families involved. I hope the teens heal quickly, physically and emotionally. I also hope Ivan's family finds some semblance of peace. How many more times do we have to hear about gun violence hitting close to home before significant changes are made? Our city deserves better, and we owe it to ourselves to keep pushing for those changes. Let's not forget these moments when we speak out and advocate against gun violence. If anyone has information, please don't hesitate to contact the authorities. Every bit of information could make a difference.
It's so sad to hear about the shooting in Frankford that claimed Ivan Hall's life and injured those young boys. I can't even begin to imagine what their families are going through right now.
