I’ve been thinking a lot about the bravery of the Allegheny County Housing Authority officer who responded that night. It must have been such a terrifying situation, hearing gunshots and then finding those two young lives lost and another teenager critically injured. I can’t imagine what it's like to be the first person on the scene in such a tragic situation. It just stresses how crucial our first responders are in trying to keep our communities safe. Also, I think about the friends and families of Nazir and Rimel—they must be going through so much pain and confusion right now. I truly hope they find some form of peace or answers through all this. My heart is with them during this incredibly difficult time.

Hey everyone, I've been following the case of the tragic shootings in Braddock, and something's been on my mind. I've been thinking about how challenging it must be for Woodland Hills High School students and staff right now. Losing two seniors, Nazir Parker and Rimel Williamson, when they were just starting their final year, must have turned everything upside down for the school community. The school is supposed to be a place of safety and learning, and now they've been thrust into mourning. I wonder how they're coping and what kind of support is being offered to help them navigate this tough time. Grief has a way of reverberating through a community, and it's crucial that these kids and their educators get the emotional support they need. Also, it's touching to see how the community has come together, but it raises the question about what's being done within schools to prevent such tragedies from occurring. Are there programs in place focusing on conflict resolution or mental health? Would love to hear your thoughts or any insights on how schools can be a part of the solution in tackling the issue of youth violence.
