I was shocked to hear about what happened to Laura Abrams. I don't live too far from North 7th and West Norris, and it's always been one of those places where you feel pretty safe. The church area, in particular, is usually bustling during the day, so to hear about something so awful happening there in the early morning hours is really unnerving. I can't imagine what her family must be going through right now. Her son talked about her devotion to them, and it's just devastating to think of a family losing their mom like that. It must be doubly difficult given the circumstances that remain unclear. I'm really hopeful that the surveillance footage from the nearby businesses can provide some leads. The thought of this being a random act is terrifying. I sincerely hope they find whoever is responsible and bring them to justice. Meanwhile, it’s heartening to see the community rallying around her family with the memorial and the GoFundMe campaign. It shows that even in times of darkness, there's still compassion and support. ?
