I’ve been following Desmond Edwards’ case, and it just breaks my heart to see how it has affected his family, especially his wife, Virneal, and their kids. I can't begin to imagine what they're going through, losing a husband and father so suddenly. My thoughts have been stuck on the fact that this senseless violence could happen while he was just going about his day, taking care of his family. The idea that Desmond had no idea what was about to happen as he drove his usual route home is chilling. How do we even begin to make sense of such a random and brutal act? I know the community held a vigil, which shows just how loved and respected Desmond was. Moments like those can offer comfort, but they can't bring back a father or a husband who was clearly a light in their lives. I really hope that justice is served and that his family can find some peace in time. In the meantime, sending love to them as they navigate this unimaginable loss.
