I can't stop thinking about the tragic loss of Jamie Lea Smith in Philly. The fact that shots were fired from outside and that she was hit in her own living room is just so terrifying and makes me think about how vulnerable we all can be in places we think we're safe. I wonder if the shooters even knew who was inside or if this was an awful case of mistaken identity. I've been reading up on similar cases and it's not uncommon for the intended target to be someone entirely different. My heart is with Jamie's family and friends right now—losing someone in such a sudden and violent way must leave an indescribable void. If anyone knows anything, I'm really hoping they come forward.
