I’ve been following the case of Carmelo Drayton, and I couldn't stop thinking about the increase in violent incidents happening on SEPTA recently. My heart goes out to Carmelo’s family and friends, who are undoubtedly facing unimaginable grief. It’s so alarming how a simple commute turned into such a tragic event. What’s also really concerning is the safety of public transportation in Philly. I’ve seen conversations where folks are considering other ways to get around because they don’t feel safe on SEPTA anymore. It’s really troubling to see how these incidents are affecting the community's sense of security. I’m hopeful that the arrest made in June and the increased security measures will start to make a real difference. Has anyone in the area noticed any changes with the new security efforts? I can imagine it's on a lot of people's minds, especially those who rely on SEPTA daily. Stay safe out there, everyone.
