The detail about Heather’s Durango being left with the engine running and a hammer on the roof is chilling. It makes me wonder if she had a moment to assess her surroundings before the brutal attack. What was she doing on West Poplar Street? Was it a commonly traveled route for her? As a mother and veteran, I imagine she had a vigilant and routine-driven nature. I hope more people come forward with any information about what they witnessed that night. My heart goes out to her family, and I can’t imagine the pain they’re experiencing. This makes me think about the importance of community vigilance and looking out for each other, especially when something seems out of place. Let justice be served for Heather.
