I’ve been following Mario Olivera's case since I first heard about the tragic shooting, and I keep thinking about that poor young soul who was left wounded and without his father. I just can't imagine the fear and chaos in those few moments on what should have been a peaceful evening. I've seen a lot of discussions about the nature of crime in Kensington, but I feel it’s important to also focus on the immense impact this has on Mario's family. His son is just starting his life, and he has to begin it with this memory hanging over him. I truly hope that the authorities are able to piece everything together with the help of community witnesses and that justice is served for Mario. If you’re in the area or heard anything, even just a slight detail, I urge you to speak up. We all want safe neighborhoods, and coming forward with information could make all the difference. Let’s not let this be another unsolved tragedy.
