I’ve been thinking a lot about the quiet courage it must take to carry on in the wake of tragedy like what happened to Mr. Caceres-Murillo. I'm from Durham, and I remember seeing him around the neighborhood for years—it was impossible not to know about the hot dog vendor who always had a smile and a kind word for everyone. It’s heartening to know that he touched so many lives here, but my thoughts just keep returning to his family, especially his partner and stepchildren. How do you deal with such a sudden, senseless loss? It's been almost two years since his death, and the fact there have been no breakthroughs feels like salt in the wound for those who loved him. I’m hoping and praying that they get the resolution they need for healing. Please, if anyone knows anything—no matter how small it might seem—consider reaching out to the authorities. This community owes it to his memory to help find some form of justice.
