I've been following the case of Sakenya Steele and her siblings, and I just can't wrap my head around it. One aspect that I find particularly chilling is that Ethel Steele was on a FaceTime call during the terrible events. I can't even begin to imagine the horror and helplessness the person on the other end of that call must have felt. It's such a haunting part of this already deeply distressing situation.
We’re often left wondering how someone who seemed so dedicated and caring could be capable of such an act without apparent warning signs. For someone so involved in her kids' lives, it’s baffling to think about what inner turmoil she might have been facing. This tragedy could encourage more conversations about mental health, especially among those who are always perceived as strong and put-together.
I hope that the community continues to honor Sakenya, Sakendra, and Sakenlo by pushing for better mental health resources. My thoughts are with all those affected.
Has anyone else been following the situation with Sakenya and her siblings in Winston-Salem? I can’t stop thinking about it, especially after learning about the FaceTime call. It's so haunting to think someone was witnessing it in real-time, and it breaks my heart for everyone involved.
Ethel being described as a devoted mother makes it even harder to understand. I keep wondering what might have pushed things to this devastating point. It's crucial that we talk more about mental health and how to seek help before things spiral out of control like this. I hope there can be some positive movement toward better resources in their community.
Keeping the family and everyone touched by this in my thoughts. If anyone knows where we can donate or help in any way, please share. Sending love and strength to all affected.
