Was anyone else aware that Michael Kelly was also really into hiking and spent a lot of time in the outdoors around Great Falls? I stumbled upon an old local news article from before he went missing that highlighted some community hiking initiatives he was part of. It got me wondering if maybe he decided to take an impromptu hiking trip before his alleged flight. With the vast wilderness surrounding the area, it's not too far-fetched to think that something could have happened in the backcountry. Does anyone local remember what the weather was like around late August 2017? Could conditions have played a role? Would love to hear some thoughts, especially from those familiar with hiking trails nearby.
