I was just reading about the disappearance of Richard Hambrick and Steve Chaney, and something struck me as curious. Has anyone come across any information about their exact fishing route or the specific spots they intended to fish? I know they left from the South Harbor Boat Ramp on August 27, 2017, but there doesn't seem to be much detail on where exactly they planned to go along the coast. Sometimes small details about their planned route can point to areas where currents might have taken them or where they could have encountered trouble. With the boat being found all the way near Murrells Inlet, I'm wondering if anyone familiar with local fishing patterns or coastal currents has insights that haven't been covered yet.

Has anyone else looked into ocean currents around late August between Oak Island and Murrells Inlet? I've been reading up on how currents can really influence where a boat or debris might end up. Considering the distance between where they set out and where the boat was found, it seems like currents might have played a significant role in why the boat drifted so far without them. It makes me wonder if anyone has reanalyzed the search area based on those patterns. It might offer some new insights or search strategies. Thoughts?

Hey everyone, I stumbled upon Richard Hambrick's case and it got me really questioning the weather conditions that day. Does anyone know if there were any reports of unusual tides or storms along the North Carolina coast on August 27, 2017? I heard that sometimes sudden weather changes can catch even experienced fishermen off guard. It's eerie how their boat was found so far from where they started. Also, does anyone know if the authorities checked into this angle during their initial searches? Would love to hear any thoughts or info from locals who might have been around there at the time.
