Hi everyone. I've been following the case of Devoughn Leon Carthen closely and something’s been on my mind. It's really disheartening to know that moments before his tragic passing, Devoughn expressed concerns about his safety during a FaceTime chat with his family. It's so important to take these kinds of warnings seriously, but often we aren't sure what steps to take.
I'm curious if others have thoughts on how we, as a society, can better support individuals who feel threatened or unsafe. There must be better systems in place to act on these fears before it’s too late. Given that he was living in his car due to marital issues, it makes me wonder if there are resources or organizations that could have protected him during such a vulnerable phase.
