I recently came across the tragic news about Ebony Spruill, and my heart goes out to her family and friends during this unimaginably difficult time. I can’t even begin to fathom the pain they must be feeling. It’s just so upsetting to see young lives cut short in such senseless violence. I’ve been following the updates on this case closely, and something that’s been on my mind is the impact this is having on our community, especially young people. The arrest of a 17-year-old and an 18-year-old has made me think about what’s driving our youth towards such destructive paths. There’s something deeply unsettling about teenagers being involved in such serious crimes. I hope this incident prompts more discussions about prevention and addressing the root causes of youth violence in Lumberton. If there are any local initiatives or support groups forming, I’d love to know how to get involved. We need to come together and create a safer environment for everyone, and honor Ebony's memory by working towards positive change. Let’s keep supporting each other and keep this conversation going. Thoughts and prayers to everyone affected.
