I've been following the New Bern case and just wanted to express my deep sympathy for DeVaughn's family. As someone who's lived in a similar community, I know how tight-knit these neighborhoods can be, and it's truly unsettling to think of such violence taking place. It’s so frustrating and sad that there hasn’t been much headway in finding who did this to him.
Something that's stuck with me is the person who stopped to try and help DeVaughn with a medical kit. I can’t imagine the courage it took to run toward the danger to try to save another's life. It just goes to show that there are still good people out there, even when the world seems so dark.
I hope that anyone with information finds it in their heart to come forward. DeVaughn's family and his kids deserve some peace. They should be able to remember him for the loving father and dedicated worker he was, without the shadow of this tragedy hanging over them. Sending all my thoughts to his mother, Charmeko, and his children. May they find justice and healing soon.
Has anyone else been thinking about the person of interest shown in the surveillance footage? It's baffling how someone can just vanish like that, even with today’s tech. My heart goes out to DeVaughn's family, especially knowing his little kids are still waiting for answers. I can't even begin to imagine the pain they're going through, not having any closure on this horrific situation. I hope the community continues to speak up and share anything they know, even if it seems small. Sometimes the tiniest detail can crack a case wide open. Also, has anyone heard updates about what happened to that driver who tried to help DeVaughn? Such a brave act amidst chaos. If you’re out there reading, just know your courage hasn’t gone unnoticed. Stay strong, Charmeko—there's a whole community standing behind you, hoping for justice for DeVaughn.
